Finally, after purchasing many many eyelash curlers over previous years, I have found the perfect one for me. I don't have deepset eyes, and I have fairly short eyelashes. This curler grabs all the lashes, down to the base of the eyelash and curls beautifully. The corners don't pinch, as other curlers have in the past. I'm so proud to have finally found the right one for me.

I have used the Shiseido eyelash curler for years and it was always the best on the marker. When I went to buy refill pads last week, the sales woman convinced me to buy the NEW AND IMPROVED version. I was very distressed that you would change such a great product. INstead of being curved and able to curl all my lashes at once, now it is flat and I need to move around my eye several times. Also I was only able to reach the very tip of my lashes. If I tried to get close, the metal would touch my cornea. The old curler was always rated the best in every fashion magazine... why change a good thing?

I've had my Shiseido eyelash curler since 1998, and it still works as well as the day I bought it. I have deep-set, almond-shaped eyes, and most eyelash curlers seem to be designed for rounder eyes. The Shiseido eyelash curler fits my eyes perfectly. It produces a true curl, not a crimp, and my eyelashes stay curled all day. It does occasionally pinch, but not badly, and pinching usually only occurs when I'm not careful and get it too close to my eyelid. I'm very glad I purchased it and would highly recommend it!

I have Asian lashes that aren't too short but they like to stay straight and point down. I've tried CoverGirl and Maybelline eyelash curlers that worked okay. The curls don't last very long with those. But with Shiseido eyelash curler, my lashes curled nicely, not in an "L" shape, but in a smooth curve. They stay curled for a long time. The Shiseido one lets me get very close to the lash line and curl almost every lashes, except the ones at the outer corner (unless I take extra time to work on those). My lashes look longer and more noticeable with Shiseido. It's awesome. :) One thing you need to be careful about is it might pinch. I haven't had problems with it pinching the upper eyelid, but it almost pinched the skin underneath the outer corner of my eye. It's probably just because of the shape of my eyes and cheekbones. I haven't tried the Shu Uemura one so I can't say it's better but this Shiseido one is the best eyelash curler I've had.
